The [sm]art internship program is open to emerging artists and writers.

  • Are you a young artist or a writer, ages 35 or younger?

  • Would you like to intern with a team of passionate creatives?

  • Are you curious to meet writers and artists behind the scenes?

  • Do you want to be mentored by fellow artists, creative curators and executives?

The [sm]art Internship program is curated with the intention of carefully suiting individuals to the unique environment and resources we can offer, curating residencies, exhibitions, and festivals.

The [sm]art Internship program offers six key benefits.

Exhibitions

 

Explore the international arts scene with our artists and curators in true and virtual reality Exhibitions.

Writing Faculty

 

A one-on-one mentorship under our Writing Faculty with a qualified writing mentor.

Festival Tickets

 

Free access our unique Festivals and five free back stage passes for your family, friends, or guests.

Hands-on Experience

 

A hands-on experience of learning event coordination, video editing, social media marketing and influencing.

Creative Guidance

Guidance by Curators, comprised of artists, academics and cultural leaders across disciplines.

Letter of Recommendation
​

A letter of recommendation for scholarships, university, graduate school, or employment.

Application is open ended and informal by email, for the attention of Ralph Overbeck.

Selection procedure is by committee across disciplines: 

​

  • Visual Art

  • Literature

  • Poetry

  • Photography

  • Public Art

  • Sculpture

  • Performance Art

  • Music

  • Opera

  • Dance

​

With special consideration for emerging writers who are interested in digital publishing, sharing their stories, pieces, and takes on any topics leading to personal discovery and growth.

Our ideal [sm]artie:

​

  • Is 35 years old or younger

  • Possesses a burning passion for the creative arts and writing.

  • Loves learning new skills and developing their artistic craft.

  • Shows initiative and shares creative ideas and insights with the team.

  • Has solid knowledge of social media tools, and/or a social media presence.

  • Can commit to 5-10 hours per week with access to the internet.

 

Please note that at this point interns are expected to join us on a voluntary basis, with the expectation of on-going professional and creative opportunities and experiences.
